Sabel Simon: Transgender Tapestry, 2006

Sabel Simon was a trans woman who lived in Los Angeles in the early 2000s. From the age of 13 til 24 she dedicated her life advocating for trans youth with HIV/AIDS. In these photos she’d won the Quest pageant, a west coast based pageant for trans women who have done activism for their community. Along with honor and high praise, the pageant granted the winner a cover photo and interview in Transgender Tapestry.
