Roberta Angela Dee (1950-2003) was an author, journalist, transgender rights activist and the founder of Women on the Net (WON) website — one of the first transgender resources for women of color! She is best known for challenging Ray Blanchard and the medical sexoligist community on “autogynephilia” a disorder coined by Blanchard that fetishizes and minimizes the experiences of trans women. Roberta Dee wrote many novels for Reluctant Press including Roberta: a Lesbian Transsexual, columns for The Transvestian, and erotica for The Gay Cafe Library. She was an incredible woman who dedicated so much of her life uplifting trans people and challenging the rampant transphobia and transmisogyny in the medical field. You can also find her work online at the Transgender Guide and TransGriot.
